The future.... some fear it, some look forward to it. Why do people fear the future? Probably because the future is one of the few things in life that humans do not have control over. Uncertainty is one that is daunting for the human race. Us humans we love control. We love controlling the people around us, now we even control the environment around us. The future is one the human race certainly does not have any control over. The feeling of uncertainty, feeling of not knowing what the future holds. That is the base of the fear. Often categorized by chronophobia.

On the other hand, there are those who look forward to the future. They are excited for what the future holds in store for them, but what makes them excited? Why do they not get alarmed by not having control over what shall happen next. What’s the basis of their hope? Their claim is simple. When you know there is nothing you can do about it. Why worry and fear it. By worrying does it change the fact that you cannot determine what shall happen next. However hard you think. The answer will always be no. There are also those strange ones, who get a rush by having a sense of anticipation. This energizes their lives

If you were to ask me, despite the uncertainty that comes with the future. To me the future is associated with hope. In face of all the adversities that comes with life’s journey, the adversities make our life colorful, it makes it an adventure worth living for. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. There is a supreme power that ensures that every endearing, determined individual gets a contented life finally. The fact that the hard work, determination and dedication put from my side during our final years as a high school student will all pay off at the end. Hard work never goes to waste. You will surely be rewarded. One day all that we had put our blood, sweat and tears will finally pay off. Eventually living a contented life with the career I have always wanted. This is what gives me hope for the future.

In the words of Thomas Carlyle, “A strong mind always hopes, and has always cause to hope."
