Have you ever met someone who is anxious or tries to avoid human contact? Anxiousness can be defined as a feeling of fear and tension. People face these certain emotions in their daily lives in work, school, family life, and personal relations. When students have an exam or when teenagers ask their parents for a new phone, for example, the feel of nervousness overwhelms them.  social phobia is the most well-known form of anxiety. People who suffer from it have trouble talking to people and making new friends so their relationships are limited.

Social phobia occurs for individuals who had stressful experiences such as being rejected for a job application or losing a family member. Additionally, people who have mental health issues like depression can become anxious as a side effect of their illness. Shy kids also are more likely to have anxiety in the future as long as they don’t learn how to be more confident when they interact with others. All of these reasons can lead to difficulty in making a circle of relationships and keeping friends around them.

There are common symptoms that occur continuously for those who are experiencing social anxiety. These include feeling afraid when they talk to strangers, avoiding situations that might make them the center of attention, preventing eye contact. It is hard for them to tolerate the daily routine like attending meetings, going to parties, and going to work or school.

As a result of being socially anxious, this can affect the rest of the family members and friends. Relatives may get tired of the effort they make in dealing with it. They also leave a negative impact on their friendships. Since anxious people prefer to spend their time at home, that makes their friends give up on them and cut off their relationship with them. On the other hand, their relatives should be more open-minded and help them to have healthy self-esteem.

Anxious people find it difficult to share their feelings. Everyone has their own troubles. As a result of it, they believe that sharing their thoughts and feeling weaknesses their connection with others. They assume that others might think that they are being weird. It’s normal to feel that way. However, to get over it and to boost their confidence they need to take small steps to gain faith in their selves.

Leaving it without proper treatment can lead to complications. It will probably cause isolation, sensitivity, depression, negative self talk, temper tantrums, breathing difficulties,, suicide attempts, poor social skills, and difficulty forming relationships. This will affect their performance at school or work and life events in general.

There are two ways for curing anxiety. The first one is getting professional help. They can go to a psychiatrist or ask for experts help on the dedicated sites for it. The second one is by understanding what makes them anxious and how to deal with it. There are many tips that can help them to deal with their social anxiety. For instance, they have to take control of their thoughts, talk about their feelings, practice self-care, keep a journal and commit to putting down their list of fears on it and make sure that they try to get rid of them gradually.
