Exploring the unknown has its share of failures and disappointments. But during the exploration period many comfort zones become mere thoughts and risks become challenges. The universe is full of unknowns, which lack information to explain their existence and are still discoverable. The exploration of the unknown leads to many literary pieces, scientific developments, and fine arts achievements that are constantly influencing society.

Throughout time new writers and writing techniques imerge. Women alive pre-1900s had little to no support as writers and when they did write their works were frowned upon. Many unknowingly produce literary pieces that change society as a whole. In Their Eyes Were Watching God, the protagonist journeys through changes, takes risks, and explores unknown feelings. Janie would never have found the person she loves if she did not decide to search for it even though she knew she would find hurt and sorrow. In The Jungle, the protagonist goes searching for a change in his beaten Chicago life. He finds this change with a socialist party. Both of these novels dove deeper into common issues and they work to uncover these unknown facts and bring light to them. Literature searches for unknown answers to solve blank questions.

Some may argue that when searching for the unknown that failure is prevalent but it is only a failure when the explorer gives up. Edison “failed” many times when inventing the light bulb, but he kept trying and working to create the famous invention. Although it took him thousands of attempts, he perfected his creation. Science is the reason behind everything in the universe. Biology is a whole entire topic pertaining to life. Cosmology allows scientists to study outer space entirely. Had Neil Armstrong not ventured into space and landed on the moon, who knows how long it would have been before the world touched the moon. He is not the only one to take great risks to achieve success. Many scientists have given their life to uncovering the unknown and exposing its secrets. They have taken great strides and many others will follow in their footsteps.

Science and literature are important, but so are the fine arts. Modern artists differ from historical artists but those historical artists laid the foundation for modern music and art. Composers such as Tchaikovsky, Bach, and Beethoven explored the wide world of music. Tchaikovsky entered himself into a music program at a young age. Music was foreign and unknown to him, yet he decided to discover the beauty and meaning behind creating music. The same goes with art. Artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, and Munch all discovered unknown artistic styles. Their art makes people think about unknown ideas and explore their own artistic styles. Everyone has a personal artistic style but they are unknown until that person explores their hidden talent. Between art and music, there is much more that is discoverable.

The unknown will forever be an explorable journey. Music, science, art, and literature are just a few of the many elements that were once unknown but now make a great impact on how everyone lives.
