Smoking has become a popular habit to an alarming extent. Today, about one billion people continue to practice this bad habit. Cigarettes are even seen in the mouths of children aged twelve to fifteen around the globe. Smoking has changed over the past. From the 1930s to the 1950s, doctors recommended the deadly consumer product until the 1960s, when the U.S. surgeon general released studies detailing the dangers of smoking. Moreover, cigarettes are way more deadly now than they were 50 years ago. Besides, they have become much cheaper today. Not only does smoking cause cancer, but it can also cause heart disease, stroke, lung diseases, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD). Furthermore, there are possibilities that smoking can cause emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Smoking also increases the risk of tuberculosis, certain eye diseases, and problems with the immune system, including rheumatoid arthritis. Moreover, we may have heard or seen small warnings about smoking in many places, such as at the beginning of movies, where it says 

"Smoking causes cancer, smoking kills". Cigarettes produce toxic smoke that is not only harmful to the human body, but also to the environment. In fact, smoking could also be the start of wildfires, house fires, and different types of fires in many places. Cigarettes are made of tobacco leaves, among other substances. Furthermore, it contains "nicotine", which makes the habit of "smoking" addictive. The more nicotine gets into the human body, the more addictive the habit becomes. Aware of the risks of smoking, many people continue to smoke. In-depth, plenty of people with health problems in their bodies, also continue to have this bad habit. On top of that, many people think that smoking has many benefits for the human body. But the fact is, smoking has many health risks, and it is injurious to the human body where there are high possibilities for the death of a human being. 

In conclusion, to avoid extreme health consequences, the best way is to quit this bad habit of smoking. Prior to doing so,  Health experts suggest exercising, eating healthy foods, drinking water, and spending time with friends and family. By reducing health risks and preventing illness, we can maintain a happy, healthy lifestyle while also taking care of the environment.
