"Drug addiction is a self-punishing disease that has a negative impact on emotional, psychological, and physical well-being," stated Dr. TP. Chia. Drugs will ruin your life, and also the lives of your friends and family. What motivates people to use drugs? When many people in ads and media warn them about the consequences. I refuse to use drugs for a variety of reasons, and you should as well.

To begin with, drugs will cause harm not just to you and your life, but also to your family and friends. Drugs cause people to behave and think in unusual ways. Different types of drugs can alter your thoughts of others and yourself. Drugs do have the potential to make people violent. Alcohol, cannabis, and cocaine are used by 26.1 percent of people who commit violent crimes, according to the Department of Justice. Only 27% of those who commit violent crimes are not addicted to drugs. Drug use will take over your life and destroy your connections with family and friends. Parents with drug-addicted children are frequently stressed and concerned about their children. They are terrified of hurting themselves or others at any time. This is awful, and it's one of the reasons I'll never do drugs. I love my family, and I'd feel terrible if I was the reason my parents separated and were miserable.

Drugs have an impact on both your body and mind. Drugs damage your immune system, making you more susceptible to illness. Drugs can also cause heart issues. In one study, 223 of 480 drug addicts who went to the hospital for treatment had heart problems. People inject drugs into their veins, which can cause the veins in their bodies to collapse, and are the cause of heart problems.

I have always said "No" to drugs and I will still do so. Nothing anyone says can convince me otherwise. I hope you decide to not use drugs, but if you are using drugs, it's never too late to stop and live a much better, and healthier life. Those who stop using drugs and attend rehab reduce their drug use by up to 90% after starting treatment. If you've said "Yes" to drugs in the past, say "No" today.
