Illicit drugs represent the largest number of criminal cases that are inspected by forensic science laboratories. Drugs can occur naturally as marjuana and cocaine. Drugs can be classified by major effects. The four major types are stimulants, depressants, narcotics, and hallucinogens. The amount of illicit drugs in the world is bad but the effects of them are even worse.

There are lots of illicit drugs in the world and one of them, cocaine, is among some of the most known drugs that are very bad. Cocaine comes in two forms, a white powder which is the most common and it can also be made into a solid crystal like rock. There are also lots of ways in which a person can inhale or put the drugs into your body. Some of the ways are snorting the white powder into a person's nose, rubbing it into their gums, dissolving it in water and injecting it into them, or heating up the rock crystals and inhaling the smoke into the lungs. Cocaine works by sending a very high level of dopamine ( which is a natural chemical messenger produced by someone's body)  to your brain. The dopamine goes to a place in our brain that controls pleasure, and the overload causes intense feelings of alertness called a high. Some short term effects of cocaine can make you talkative, very alert, energetic, have constricted blood vessels, dilated pupils,  and increased blood pressure, body temperature, and heart rate. Large doses can also lead to bizarre, erratic, and violent behaviour.

In order for people to take drugs they must get them from people, which people do in different ways, for example delivery by postal services. Some people meet up with each other and exchange drugs with money in person. Then there are others who smuggle them by cargo on trains, ships, planes, and buses. Most drugs are smuggled into the United States to states around the country. Various states including Detroit, Chicago, Houston, Miami, New York, ect.. Drug shipments are typically stashed in ranchess, warehouses, residences, and trailers primarily near main entry and exit points into and out of the U.S.. To transport drugs the main device used is either a private, rental, or commercial truck with hidden compartments.

Here are some fun - not so fun facts about teenagers' use of drugs. 60% of Seniors don't think that regular marijana use is that dangerous, but the THC is nearly 5 times as strong as it was 20 years ago. 1/3 of teenagers who live in states with medical marijuana laws, get their marijana from other people's prescriptions. Teens who repetitively learn to not take drugs from their parents, are 50% likely not to take drugs. 100% of teenagers who abuse prescription drugs, get the drugs completely free from their friends and family. There are more teens that have died from prescription drugs than heroin and cocaine combined. Nearly half of all college students use illicit drugs.

In conclusion, the amount of illicit drugs in this world are bad enough, but the effects of them are worse. Illicit drugs like cocaine have really bad effects  that no one should experience or want to experience. The amount of kids that take it is morbidly disturbing and bad. I think help should also be provided to everyone that takes them.
