Internship Essay Example
Writing to express what convinced me to apply to the Atlanta internship and with it the Economy-English class is complex as well as ridiculously rudimentary. Two major factors mainly influenced my decision. Firstly the advantages coming with the placement for my future career and secondly my personal curiosity.
When examining my interests and achievements, one can conclude that I am broadly interested in a massive variety of sectors, having many recreations and wanting to take roughly every course contemporaneous. However, I decided long ago that, career wise, I am following my love to scientific work. A huge point that fascinated me about it, is the variety of opportunities it can offer. In many of those, an economic understanding is either required or helpful. Whether I will have the honor to be a professor or work for a company or research laboratory, I would be given the opportunity of being more qualified for the profession in this thematic after completing this class.
Despite the clear benefits of economic knowledge, one has to enlighten the fact, that the class deals with economic English. Otherwise, I could have simply decided to take Social Science classes, but I have not. The intercultural experience and the discussion of especially the international economy, connected with the needed vocabulary, offer a huge basis for my participation in internationally collaborating projects. Planing to spend part of my future studies abroad, makes the demand of such skills quite likely. Additionally, I could experience an American company or university which would help me make decisions about going abroad in the future. Expecially regarding the fact, that graduating a university is unavoidable, striving for a scientific career, an internship at a university would be tailor-made for me. And to be honest, it also looks remarkable on my CV.
Nevertheless, my future occupation is not the only reason for my will to gain knowledge and understanding of the world economy. As I have mentioned before, I'm extraordinarily versatile interested, which includes company and budget management as well as the stock market and other investments. Besides that, everyone needs skills to manage their own property. Unfortunately, my opportunity of making myself acquainted with the matter in social studies was taken by the lack of time. I still must participate in the additional course, yet has this opportunity not come in handy to connect as many of my interests as possible with those skills in one course to help me internalize the curriculum?
Excluding all of those logical factors, I still would want to accomplish the placement, just due to it being enjoyable to do something diverged occasionally and discover more interests, as I have done by participating in a bunch of workshops in my holidays just because it is fun. And of course, who does not want to go to the USA with so many friends when offered the opportunity?
To conclude, this internship could significantly help my career as well as my curious, interest following heart and just make me delighted. I have two huge career goals at the moment. The first one is becoming a professor and the second one is getting into the management of a successful corporation. My belief of this placement being beneficial to achieve these goals is irrelevant here. Your judgement is the final force now. Honored to be one of the lucky who are given the opportunity, to be chosen to make this dream become reality, I hope to succeed with my argumentation.
(I have not asked a responsible teacher about it, but according to the school website I would gain the opportunity of the certilingua certification, by participating in an international internship and writing a report about it, if I am able to keep my grades in English and French above ten points during the next two years. It would be sad to loose this possibility. )
