Life and Career of Dolly Parton Essay Example

Dolly Parton is a famed musician. If you have heard of country music in general chances are you have heard of her. Although growing up in a small mountain top home in eastern Tennessee she eventually made her way to Nashville to start her career in the music industry. She is a talented songwriter and business owner that strives to make connections and be a good person.

Throughout her career and life, she has been quoted numerous times. From her songs to different interviews she has had but one that shows how much she genuinely cares about people would be “If you see someone without a smile give them yours.” Always having the love of people that she has and being nice to someone that you don’t know. She is a role model to many. 

Mrs. Parton's educational background included graduating from Sevier County high school the local high school then heading to Nashville the following morning. She was, however, awarded an honorary degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville College. She was awarded a Doctorate of Humane and musical letters. She is also known for her love of education and is involved with her own non-profit called the imagination library in which she has read to young children and given away books to them.

Throughout her childhood, she always accredited her mother with being her mentor. Always looked up to her to know what to right from wrong even when the kids at school would make fun of her because of what she wore. When she was young her mother sowed a coat for her. She also wrote a song about it later in her musical career.

Her first job was writing songs, from the young age of 10 years old. She also acquired a good work ethic from growing up on a farm. Just after high school moving to the city she wanted to jump-start her music carer. Throughout the years' Dolly has worked with many different singers including, Kenny Rogers, Reba McEntire, and even Miley Cirus, Dolly's godchild. 

With her life in the music industry, she still manages to be a successful business owner with several venues including a couple of dinner theaters, two resorts, cabins, and even Dolly wood a destination theme park. Thinking about her life and how I want to get into the theme park industry she has defined my overarching goal for the future. Although I do not think getting into the music side of things will be the right path for me the way she has taken a good stake in the old Silver Dollar City Tennessee.

In 1986 the then Silver Dollar City and Hershland family Entertainment made a deal to give Dolly Parton a stake in the park so she wouldn't create a competing theme park in the eastern Tennessee area. I currently have an idea of where I would build a park if/when get the funds to do so. Loving the Tennessee area along with country music.
