I have chosen by far my favorite manga and anime series One Piece. It is about a teenage boy who wants to become a pirate king.

I like almost everything in One Piece. Characters, story, worldbuilding, music… everything is perfect. The only thing to complain about is the pacing in anime but in the manga, it’s way better. The characters are very engaging and funny. However, the main thing that makes One Piece stand out is the way it shows the characters' backstories. It makes you feel empathy for the characters and you will start to care about them. The only negative thing about the characters is that some of them are weirdly drawn. One Piece is usually very colorful and positive but sometimes it can be turn out to be very dark. For instance, there is slavery, cannibalism, torturing, killing, corruption, and much more. Although there are a lot of dark moments in one piece the age requirement is 14. I was most amazed by the story and how the creator managed to think of such a magnificent story.

The animation and world-building are aesthetically appealing as well. There are only a few references to real people. For example, there is Marshall D. Teach is a reference to a real-life pirate named Edward Teach. And both of them have the same nickname, Blackbeard. The dark events that are happening in One Piece are also happening in real life so you could call that reference as well. In my opinion, One Piece is so well written that if I changed anything I would ruin it. So I'd choose to not change anything even the deaths that I was sad about. Watching this masterpiece you would feel many emotions such as sadness, happiness, angriness, shock, confusion… Probably every emotion that you could think of.

It is so good that since I started this work I only could think of two negative things and they were the pacing and weird-looking characters.
