Slavery had many oppositions in the United states between from 1776 to 1852. Many events that contributed to the growing opposition and said about from adversary voices. There were statements, acts, newspapers, petitions, and books towards anti-slavery. Many abolitionist spoke out about it. 

The subject slavery was a very controversial piece between people. It was an act that was very wrong and inhumane. For which African Americans were treated like animals, sold and forced to do work in the house or in field. Along with the work they were beaten almost every day as a punishment. A narrative of “The life of Frederick Douglass” written by himself in 1845, he then describes about the way he felt completely drained on how the way he was treated. He writes about a turning point in his life of being a slave. An expiring ember of freedom and inspired him to fight for his life and be determined to be set free. “it was glorious resurrection, from the tomb of slavery, to the heaven of freedom. This book was supporting in a different perspective of anti-slavery to show the people what it was like be slave.

In the commonwealth of Massachusetts V. Nathanial Jennison, 1783 it has a similarity with the book Mr. Douglass wrote. The document supports about abolishing slavery. A description of how African were treated like cattle and horses to have people more empathy on them. It then states that with natural right of mankind’s and innate desire of liberty “without the regard of the color, complexion or shape of noses”. The Government then declared that all men are born free and equal. Stating that people of different color should be able to have the same right and liberty as others regarding from what they look like.

They then move a step forward and supports the claim of abolishing slavery which it then proceeds with explaining about how to help the African Americans from being treated wrong and unfair in the area. They hoped to organize anti-slavery societies, to bring agents to lift the “voice of remonstrance”. Which is cited in “Declaration of sentiments of the American Anti- slavery society” in 1833 by William Lloyd garrison. Which grew the opposition of antislavery and wanted to put a stop to it.

In conclusion acts were made through abolitionist movements which grew oppositions of slavery. And abolitionist such as William Lloyd garrison and Frederic Douglass all reached out to spoke or acted on the situation. And slowly started gaining white peoples view on slavery.
