What is stress? It is the sensation of being overwhelmed or unable to cope with mental or emotional pressure is known as stress. Aside from the pressure, stress can also manifest in different ways affecting your body, your thoughts, feelings, and your behavior hindering what you need to do every day.

Like I have mentioned earlier stress has an impact on your life but it doesn’t just appear on its own there are things or situations that make you much more vulnerable and increase stress, for example, is the death of a loved one or having a lot of responsibilities that feel a little overwhelming. Stress manifests in different ways affecting your physical health, by giving you headaches, upset stomach, and high blood pressure another way to affect you, is raising your risk for mental health issues by giving you anxiety and depression.

But stress can be managed and reduced if taken care of properly by accepting your needs taking rests and breaks occasionally so you wouldn’t easily tire yourself out, resting for a couple of days as well to take care of your well being, also talking to someone on whatever has been on your mind, going to bed on time or doing your hobbies so you can let your mind rest a bit.

As I have mentioned earlier stress can have an impact on you, some of its physical symptoms can appear as headaches, upset stomach, high blood pressure and other, ways that long-term stress raises the risk of mental health problems like anxiety and depression, as well as substance abuse, sleeping problems, pain and bodily complaints like muscle tension. But if stress is left unmanaged, it can take a toll on you by turning into a serious mental illness such as an anxiety disorder or depression. 

Stress may be hard to handle and deal with, but with the proper coping mechanisms to assist and operate your stress, making you aided and equipped in handling stress by recognizing your needs and taking action ahead of time so it would not increase your chances of suffering from mental illness.
