A child's education nearing adulthood is persuaded as one the most crucial periods for development. Since the birth of democracy, Scholastic academics in the United States have become more of a necessity in our society, establishing roles and responsibilities to charter the main functions that facilitate growth and success in the future. These crucial roles of education in the United States today consist in socializing individuals to maintain societal stability, aid in providing equal opportunities and opening doors for an increased variety of career choices, and providing students a proper environment to build character and establish relationships.

Society has maintained a steady balance throughout time and has symbolized modern stability through the works of the education system. In school, children are taught the acceptable behaviors and expectations since kindergarten, and these expectations get exponentially higher as one gets older. For example, when a teacher punishes a student for breaking a rule, the student now has an understanding of what is expected of them. Having these expectations filed into one’s consciousness leads to them not steering off the wrong path and to hopefully becoming an asset to maintaining society's peace and order. Students are taught the fundamentals of society by contributing to one's environment. For instance, when an individual joins a club in school, they become a part of that society merely from socialization. One then experiences the right and wrongs implemented in the clubs and has a higher sense of knowledge per se, of the society they’re involved in. This goes to show that education provides the significant teachings of how having experiences in societies contributes to more individuals being educated on societal stability and aid in maintaining balance. Having these skills is an asset in the future and facilitates growth that later on portrays a higher success variable.

It’s no question that higher education contributes to higher career opportunities, but when not everybody receives an equal opportunity, doors leading to the variety of career choices indefinitely close off. The education system provides crucial skills that are determined in insuring career possibilities, so when one is not given equal opportunities, it strays from

the equality that was established from democracy. An example of this is when Malala Yousafzai speaks on how those who aren’t given equal opportunities deserve the right to be educated. Henceforth on why the role of education in the U.S specifically focuses on this crucial factor in equal education amongst children to provide more doors for opportunities. Most careers require an academic background depending on the amount of experience they require. To illustrate, an individual with a 4.0 GPA has a higher success rate of being accepted into a quality college, therefore, leading to an enhanced career spectrum provided by the college. That individual is given an equal chance and opportunity as the rest of their fellow peers, meaning that they took value in their academics and stepped up to lead themselves into more doors of opportunities. As a result, the main functions that the roles of education implement to facilitate growth are emphasized due to equal opportunities and career choices.

As Humans, we are all social creatures, therefore needing a proper environment to harness our needs to facilitate growth. Providing a natural environment for students to socialize and establish relationships with one another not only structures one’s character, but also determines the type of growth the individual will experience in the future. For instance, plants need a proper environment to grow. If the plant doesn’t acquire what it needs, like water, it will show a lack of growth and development. The same principle applies to students correlating with the education system establishing an environment in which one can flourish. Depending on the kind of water the students take(how the students use their environment), however, will determine the individuals’ directional path in the future. To summarize, proper environmental factors provided by the school may portray the crucial function in encouraging growth.

Since equal opportunities in the United States have been established from the birth of democracy, the education system provided has become essential to the youths population for the encouragement of growth and success. The main factors that aid in such encouragement are the knowledge of maintaining social stability, new doors for opportunity, and character development via a proper environment. Some may take the value of education for granted, but it is up to you to make the best of what is provided in your society and turn growth into success.
