The author of "The Lady or the Tiger" Frank R. Stockton leaves the reader wondering whether the protagonist directed her lover to the door with the tiger or to the door with the other woman. Based on story details, the lady directed her lover to the door with the Tiger, which is suggested in the text "This semi-barbaric king had a daughter as blooming as his most florid fancies, and with a soul as fervent and imperious as his own" and ''It was one of the fairest and loveliest of the damsels of the court who had been selected as the reward of the accused youth, should he be proved innocent of the crime of aspiring to one so far above him and the princess hated her''. These are two ways that the author may have hinted the princess would have pointed to the door with the Tiger. her father is semi-barbaric and so is she. The fair lady she hates you could even say that she might be jealous of the woman.

"This semi-barbaric king had a daughter as blooming as his most florid fancies, and with a soul as fervent and imperious as his own" this line from the story ‘The Lady or the Tiger" by Frank R Stockton shows how the daughter it's just like the father. This also shows why the daughter might have chosen the door with the tiger behind because she is semi-barbaric and has a soul as fervent and imperious as her father. The father chose the worst Beast in all of the Kingdom to have behind one of the doors if she has a heart just like her father's she will want to see suffering.

''It was one of the fairest and loveliest of the damsels of the court who had been selected as the reward of the accused youth, should he be proved innocent of the crime of aspiring to one so far above him and the princess hated her''.Yet another example of why the princess would have chosen the door with the Tiger. Women tend to be jealous of other women that are going to be with the guy that they like. So the princess has the motive to choose the Tiger door, so her lover isn't with another woman. The princess also hates the woman so why would she want her affair to be with another.
