When I first found out about The maze runner, I was curious why people were so crazy about it. I expected this science fiction movie to be far-fetched, but it wasn’t. From the first second, I was hooked on it. This masterpiece directed by Wes Ball blew my mind!

The film is an adaptation of a book trilogy, written by James Dashner. Many book fans couldn’t wait until its release on the 18th of September 2014. Mostly teenagers were interested in this movie with leading actor Dylan O’Brien in the role of the main character Thomas. Dylan delivered a great performance, with many moving scenes with his co-stars Kaya Scodelario Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Will Poulter.

The plot is fast-moving. At the beginning of the movie, we find our main characters trapped in a giant maze, where they are trying to find a way out. Inside the maze are very dangerous and horrific creatures, called Grievers. Their only safe place is Glade, which is a small square in the middle of the maze. The film contains a big number of gripping scenes and mysterious flashbacks.

I really like the films visual effects. I appreciate the great compatibility of nature with industrial aesthetics, where they develop a great environment. It seems so extraordinary and relaxing. Furthermore, other things that I have truly enjoyed are scary and thrilling scenes where I didn’t know what to expect.

If you are a teen and you have seen Hunger Games or Divergent, I would recommend this movie to you. The story is spectacular with many great special effects and awesome actors. You can’t miss it!
