In-N-Out is a prestigious but well-known fast-food restaurant chain based in the Western United States. In-N-Out is the quintessential place to get the experience of a classic American meal, known for its "high quality" service and delicious burgers and fries. It's so popular that people from the east travel long distances just to taste In-N-Out. Its best feature, however, is its small menu and excellent customer service. All of In-N-Out's food is "organic" and "pure," according to the company. Despite these claims, In-N-Out is not the fantastic restaurant that everyone portrays it to be. The menu items are among the most unhealthy foods available.

Let's start with the unhealthy items starting on the menu. First, the 4x4. It's a massive burger with four buns and cheese slices, and four patties. It contains over 1050 calories, 69 grams of fat, and 2320 milligrams of sodium. It also consists of 39 grams of carbohydrates, 10 grams of sugar, and 67 grams of protein. The 4x4 is so extreme that consuming one gives nearly half of the recommended daily calorie value. Also, the massive amount of sodium puts people at risk for high blood pressure.  Second, the Double-Double. It's a cheeseburger with double the cheese patty, condiments, and vegetables. It has 590 calories, 1520 milligrams of sodium, 10 grams of sugar, 39 grams of fat, 37 grams of protein, and 39 grams of carbohydrates. Though it appears to be superior to the 4x4, it is not. The double-double is not beneficial for your body because it contains less protein and an unhealthy amount of sodium. Though it is healthier than a 4x4, it is not the best option. Finally, there are the Roadkill Fries. It's regular fries, but with a deconstructed hamburger on top. It has 1030 calories, 1690mg sodium, no sugar, 65 grams of fat, 42 grams of protein, and 74 grams of carbohydrates. To begin with, this is an unhealthy amount of calories for fries, approaching that of a 4x4. Despite the fact that it contains no sugar, it contains an enormous number of carbs and a high-fat content. That means that these fries are on par with, if not worse than, a standard burger. The fries are also salted, which means they have a high sodium content. Lastly, we have the Chocolate shake. It has 590 Calories and 65 grams of sugar. This means that it is well beyond the number of calories for a shake than usual. The main problem with the shake is that it has 65 grams of sugar - almost more than a full bottle of Pepsi. The sugar is unhealthy for your body and combined with the high amount of calories, the shake is probably not the right way to go. The totals of all four unhealthy meals would be 224 carbohydrates, 156 grams of protein, 202 grams of fat, 85 grams of sugar, 5850 milligrams of sodium, and 3260 calories. Eating the two burgers, the fries, and the shake as one big meal would give you a massive amount of sodium and calories. The one big meal also has high sugar and fat, even considering the amount of protein. This exposes the side of In-N-Out that people don't see. How unhealthy it is.

Moving on to Healthy Meals. Considering the meals at In-N-Out, there are some healthier meals that you can choose but still witness the delight of biting into a burger. Let’s start with the Protein Style Hamburger. This burger is a hamburger, but it replaces its buns with lettuce. It has 240 Calories, 370 mg of sodium, 7 grams of sugar, 17 grams of fat, 13 grams of protein, and 11 grams of carbs. Despite having little protein, it has fewer calories, fat, sodium, and carbs, unlike unhealthy meals. With low carbs and fat, this burger is one of the healthiest meals in the fast-food chain. And according to a few sources, it still tastes like a juicy burger. Next up is the Flying Dutchman. All the Flying Dutchman has is two beef patties with a slice of cheese in the middle. There are no buns, no tomatoes, and no lettuce. It has 380 calories, 880 mg of sodium, no sugar, 28 grams of fat, 30 grams of protein, and 2 grams of carbs. The Flying Dutchman is an excellent burger for those who want to slow down on carbs and have good protein in their burger. It has no sugar, and really, the only thing bad about this burger is the high amount of sodium. It has a moderately low amount of calories and has no sugar. And for the last meal, we have a Hamburger. With 310 calories, 730 mg of sodium, 10 grams of sugar, 10 grams of fat, 16 grams of protein, and 41 grams of carbs, the Hamburger is actually- one of the healthiest meals at In-N-Out. Though it has 41 grams of carbs, the low amount of fat and calories is best for those on a diet - but still want the taste of a hamburger. And finally, we have plain Milk. Most of the drinks at In-N-Out are unhealthy - and Milk is probably the best. With only 18 grams of sugar, this rocks out the 65 grams of sugar from a Chocolate shake. And, with low calories, Milk is the right way to go. Eating all the healthy meals listed as one big meal wouldn’t be quite bad. It would give you 51 grams of carbs, 62 grams of protein, 55 grams of fat, 35 grams of sugar, 1980mg of sodium, and 1110 calories. Though it has high calories, the carb value is low, and so is the fat and sugar. The only thing to watch out for is the sodium.
