Dogs Are Better Pets Than Cats Essay Example

Being happy is very important. Many people don’t know how to find happiness. Feeling protected and loved plays a huge role in having a well rounded life. Some people resort to pets to be their way of coping or discovering joy. Different pets help in many different ways for many different things. Anyways cats and dogs are both so unique in a variety of ways but so many people love them both.  Dogs are for sure better than cats because they’re great protection, they’re service animals, and they can keep you fit.   

To begin, dogs are more beneficial than cats because they provide great protection. (Jenna Strgowski) Source 1 states “...most dogs...instinctively protect their owners...territory.” Dogs can be as strong and powerful as a bear at times. They can be mean when they want to be. If a dog's owner is in trouble, they will jump into action to protect them. Also going out for a run or out to a public place can become less scary, when you have your dog by your side. Even if you have a tiny dog, they will not stop fighting to protect you until you are safe. Source 2, Dina Spector claims “...discerning noses...sniff out bombs...missing persons...track down criminals.” People can’t smell bombs, or life threatening objects from a far distance, but dogs can. If your dog sniffs something dangerous and you get out of the area, your dog could have saved your life and other lives. Besides, having a dog is just as good as having a gun or another weapon. In addition, dogs aren’t just your best friend, they’re your protector.

Service animals are mostly dogs. Dogs have a better sense of smell, taste, and hearing than any human. Humans rely on dogs as much as they rely on grocery stores to have food. Helping people could be the reason why dogs were put into this world we call Earth.  

Lastly, dogs should be chosen over cats because they keep you fit. Dogs need walks daily to stay healthy. Owners that are struggling with losing weight can benefit a lot by having a dog. Dogs love walks and they will give you the encouragement you need to walk more. Plus, dogs will play and run forever if you let them. Exercise is a great thing for humans and dogs. Therefore you and your dog can workout together. Source 3 by Christy Caplan states, “...senior or living by yourself...ensure you get out of the house.” It doesn’t matter if you're a senior or a young person in college you will get out and about if you own a dog. Dogs have to be taken to the vet, and taken on walks. Owning a dog will force you to drive, walk, and do something productive. While dogs are better at protecting you, and encouraging you, and are more beneficial. Some people might say cats are calmer and easier to take care of. 

As a result, dogs are better pets than cats because they’re better protection, they can be service animals, and they keep you fit all the time. Also having pets can help you enjoy life the way you want. Feeling safe and being loved can make a person mentally and physically better. Finding happiness is a key thing that everyone should have. Getting up everyday and being happy might be hard to do without motivation. Making a choice for yourself can help you get through life. Dogs won’t just be your pet, they will be your savior.
