Essay Sample: Taste Buds and Tongue

Did you know your tongue has between 3,000 and 10,000 taste buds not visible to humans? Have you ever wondered why your favorite foods taste so good? Well, thank taste buds for introducing the taste of all kinds of favorite food like the hotness of hot Cheetos, and the sweetness of chocolate. Taste buds are sensory organs that are found on the human tongue and allow the tongue to taste all kinds of favorite foods. How exactly do taste buds work? Taste buds and the role of the tongue are both important to humans and the role of the tongue.

Stick out the tongue and look in the mirror and see all those little bumps? Those are called papillae and most papillae contain taste buds. Taste buds have very sensitive microscopes called microvilli. Those tiny hairs send a message to the brain about how something tastes, so you know what the human tongue is tasting if it's sweet or sour. The tongue is made mostly of muscle cells with some taste buds and sensory cells. The tongue has many parts. The tongue has many important jobs in the body.  The tongue works to help with the sense of taste. Taste is an important sense in the human body. The average person has around ten thousand taste buds and they get replaced every 2 weeks or so, but as the average human ages, some of those taste cells don't get replaced. An older person may only have five thousand working taste buds that are why certain foods may taste stronger to you than they do to adults. Smoking also can decrease the number of taste buds a person has. Everyone has a different number of taste buds on their tongue. It depends on how well you take care of your health. If you smoke, you can decrease how many taste buds that are usually on the human tongue and can harm the taste buds usually if it gets very bad the tongue can lose its ability to taste it could be really dangerous.

The muscles in our tongue work together to help us taste different things. Some of these muscles are called hyoglossus The hyoglossus muscle controls all the other nerves in the tongue like genioglossus muscle The genioglossus helps the human tongue work. All of the muscles have a job to make the human tongue work and other muscles in the tongue that help the tongue work properly. Some of the muscles are hyoglossus The hyoglossus helps the human tongue be normal and flattened down, not up on top of the tongue. Another interesting fact about how the tongue muscles work together, is the styloglossus muscle. This the tongue does not move around and make sure it’s attracted to the back of the mouth. It’s interesting how the muscles in your tongue that helps you every day to taste the average human don’t even know the muscles in our tongue system to taste and especially eat every day. It’s very interesting how the taste muscles work together and to taste every day and work. Also, the average tongue can grow to as long as three inches, which is amazing and weird! Do you ever wonder how many muscles are in your tongue? There are many muscles but the most important muscles are the five main important muscles that the paper already listed? Also, did you know there are eight spectate muscles in your tongue? There are only eight and that’s amazing for the tongue to have so many taste buds but only eight muscles in the whole human tongue the muscles and taste buds work together to help the tongue work properly. The human and the taste buds inside of the tongue and the muscles are very important, the taste buds have an important role in the tongue but it’s very interesting how the human tongue works. The human tougher is very interesting and how it works and how the muscles work together and to help the tongue be normal. There are many interesting things to know about the human tongue.
