“What Does a Kindergarten Teacher Do?” Western Governors University, 25 Mar. 2021, www.wgu.edu/career-guide/education/kindergarten-teacher-career.html#close.

This website says that working as a kindergarten teacher can be a great experience but the only way for it to be great is to accept all of the challenges that come with it. In order to be a kindergarten teacher you must have patience, kindness, and plenty of effort because you will need a lot of that when working with younger children. The website also says that these teachers have the opportunity to prepare the minds of these young children and guide them through their first official year in school and prepare them for the future grades and courses they will take on in the future.

Kindergarten teachers do a variety of different things for their students, this includes preparing lessons, materials, projects, and creating goals for their students. When planning a lesson or project, they want to be sure to meet the needs of every child so sometimes they may have to change something in their lesson plan to make it a little more understandable. Being a kindergarten teacher also means being a great communicator to the children and parents so they can gain trust in him or her. They also tend to watch and observe each child to make sure that they are showing good signs of social development, good performance, and good behavior as well and if something seems off about one of their students, they look for things that could be impacting their development or behavior and they try to help fix the issue.

This website shows readers the different things that kindergarten students learn during their first year of schooling. They learn a lot during this year, some of which consist of: recognizing letters, expanding vocabulary, writing simple sentences, adding and subtracting, different shapes, different colors, and so much more. They also learn how to interact with, how to share, and how to communicate with others . Kindergarten teachers also add onto the things that their parents teach them with things such as personal hygiene and health and safety.

This website shows readers the different things you must do in order to become a kindergarten teacher. You must obtain a bachelor's degree in education plus a major in elementary education and to do this, you must take these courses: young child development, children's literature, and behavior management. Another thing some states require is a participation in a supervised training located in a kindergarten classroom with students.

The website explains that some states may require you to obtain a masters degree in education soon after you begin a teaching job so many teachers like to go ahead and get their masters degree while they are teaching. To become a kindergarten teacher you also have to become licensed which is received through the State Board of Education. This is done through a written test in which you must pass in order to become certified. This test is used to determine what kind of academic skills you have, what kind of knowledge you have, and how you perform in a classroom setting.

This website also shows readers the things you need for teaching special needs students which is good to know because you never know what kind of students you will be assigned to teach ad\nd what they have going on in their life. Becoming a teacher of special needs students requires a little extra work because these students will most likely need extra help to understand things. Just like any teaching job, you must obtain a license but what kind of license will depend on the state that you are in. Many schools offer different classes that you can take in order to be a special needs teacher such as a professional education course in special education.

Vernon, Sofia A., and Emilia Ferreiro. "Writing Development: A Neglected Variable in the Consideration of Phonological Awareness." Harvard Educational Review 69.4 (1999): 395-415. ProQuest. 28 Aug. 2021 .

This article shows Sofia Vernon and Emilia Ferreiro presenting the results of an experimental study that shows the relationship between the development of phonological awareness and the development of kindergarten teachers writing in Spanish for their Spanish speaking students. They say that the results showed that phonological awareness is not a phenomenon but it is developed across different levels and it is related to children learning to write. Vernon and Ferreiro discussed several important meanings based on the things that they found. They found that the children's ability to benefit from these phonics depends on what level they are at with their writing development. They also say that encouraging children to write in kindergarten is an important way for the students to show that when they are speaking.

Phonological awareness has been studied through a variety of different things. Children tend to demonstrate different levels of success during different tasks because each and every task requires different abilities and demands that not everyone has. While Sofia and Emilia were researching, they found that instead of classifying children based on their reading skills you should think of them as beginner writers. It’s been documented that when children are asked to write something and they haven't been taught how to write yet, people can witness a real process of construction.

The article explains that during Sofia and Emilia’s study, they came up with three hypotheses, the first hypothesis is the strong relationship between phonological awareness and the level of writing development in five and six year old children. The second hypothesis is that children may analyze oral words when they are provided with a piece of writing. The third hypothesis says that when children are presented with different languages they are able to influence it that way.
