Narrative Essay about My Views

Raising the minimum wage would not benefit the poor people of America seeing as if we did raise the minimum wage the sales tax, gas price, and the price of mostly everything would go up as well. As an example, when American citizens received their stimulus checks the prices of a lot of different things were raised. Hypothetically if you raised the minimum wage and you worked at McDonalds, I am an Independent. I believe in pro-choice, protecting the flag, and keeping the minimum wage the same. I believe in these things because I think women should have an opinion about what they want to do with their bodies. People should respect the flag, though it is their right to do what they want as long as it is not illegal, but I find it disrespectful. I also believe that we should keep the minimum wage the same because it will not help poor people.

The reason i think pro-choice is a good idea is because women should get to choose what id done with their bodies. No one should be forced to carry out a pregnancy especially if it will kill the mother to deliver. I personally do not agree with delivering the baby and then aborting it, at that point you should just give it up for adoption. I also believe that Planned Parenthood does more than give abortions, not only does Planned Parenthood give abortions they also give cancer screenings and treatment! Planned Parenthood can help so many young adults with STD testing and treatment, birth control, and general health care, the last thing we should do is defund Planned Parenthood.

Protecting the flag is out of respect for the amazing men and women who sacrifice for my rights in this country. Protecting the flag should be a given, but still today people choose to burn, step on, and use the American flag for advertisement purposes. Though people have the right to do these things it is disrespecting the flag code.  Just because you have the right does not mean it is the right thing to do. I recognize that many American citizens will continue to disrespect the flag, and there are very few things we could do to prevent this. It is my personal belief that if you are an American citizen you should respect the flag and the flag code. 

the manager at McDonalds would either have to raise the price of food to pay all the workers, or fire a majority of the people working to pay the remaining workers. This would result in either things staying mostly the same for the poor, or the poor or homeless people would not be able to find jobs because no one wants to hire and pay them. Keeping the minimum wage the same makes more sense to me economically.

My views in the future may change, but for now I am an independent. My views are my views, and I never want to make it seem like I am better than anyone else because of my opinions. Everyone is different and has different views. The only thing I can really ask of people is to respect my opinions as I respect theirs. Many people may not agree with my standpoints, but that is okay! We can always agree to disagree.
