Teamwork is something that can be applied in many aspects of a person's life. For instance, you may need to use collaboration at work, school, or even at home. Completing a task with a group of people is often better than completing it onyour own. The first article that impressed me was Mosten, Forrest S. The author illustrated the importance of teamwork within matrimonial practice and family law. In addition to this, the second article that I selected was Medical teamwork, collab, and patient-centered care by Taylor and Frances. In this article, Taylor and Frances explain several benefits of teamwork in the medical field and how collaboration could help the patients as well. I personally believe that any work environment would operate 10 times better with collaboration. According to Mosten, there are two different teams. For example, an Independent team is one in which the team does most of the tasks on their own, although every individual is still contributing to the team. On the other hand, an interdependent team is a team that actually shares responsibilities equally. I believe that both two types of collaborations are helpful, however interdependent teams would most likely be recommended when participating in a group. Mosten Also emphasize, “when a team function well this foretells the success a practitioner could possibly attain”. What the author is suggesting simply means more teamwork leads to better work performance. Furthermore, Mosten also urges “family law practitioners to seek more interdisplicinary team training opportunities.” I agree with this idea due to the fact that team training can most likely enhance skill sets and help law practitioners achieve their goals effectively. Along with this, Mosten reminds us lawyers have a ton of responsibility to do while working with clients, in other words, a typical workday for almost anyone can be quite hectic, therefore getting tasks done with a group of people could lead to a more relaxed work place. Although teamwork is helpful there are some disadvantages that Mosten demonstrates, for example, “ professionals with no knowledge of teamwork results to break-downs with trust and role confusion. Basically what Mosten is saying is that when working in teams things may not always run smoothly. There are several difficulties a team could face such as conflict, tension, frustration, and low engagement. However, with proper communication and good problem-solving skills, any group may be able to successfully overcome any challenges. In comparison to this article, Medical teamwork, collab, and patient-centered care is another essay that grabbed my attention. Hospitals are often a busy workplace, from the receptionist answering calls to the nurse assisting patients, there is almost never a time where the emergency room isn't busy. Teamwork is extremely critical in the medical field because a well-functioning workplace leads to good services for patients. Every patient wants to be taken care of properly. Taylor and Frances illustrate "health care practitioners are extremely skilled, caring, and compassionate. They go above and beyond to help patients," I agree with this, and it is obvious that healthcare practitioners want to attend to their patients as much as they can however it may be hard to do so when you have many responsibilities. Therefore collaboration in the medical field most likely can reduce medical errors along with miscommunication. I have also experienced teamwork in several ways. One example, when I needed to use teamwork, was at work, when I worked at Dunkin' donuts we had a specific person to take orders, another person making drinks, and someone else cashing the customer o,This would not have been able to get done effectively with one person doing the job. Working in a team at Dunkin helped me understand the importance of getting things done with a team. To conclude my essay, teamwork is an incredible option in almost any setting! Collaboration improves service levels, enhances flexibility, and also increases motivation. These two articles both demonstrated the importance of working in a team. Every individual has unique gifts that can benefit a team's performance. As stated in Mostens's essay when working in an interdependent team.
