Infographics is short for information graphics, which are meant to convey an intended meaning with pictures and not too wordy or lengthy. Its purpose is to capture the reader’s attention with well-designed and attractive visuals to convey a purpose or meaning.  Meanwhile, persuasive appeals are meant to convince people using one’s sense of logic, ethics and emotion. These help in elevating one’s presentation or proposal in different ways and I will address some of them hereinafter.

Firstly, infographics helps one to write better business proposals because they tend to grab attention faster. They are a classic example of using images to better appeal to the target audience and it is much simpler to comprehend compared to wordy and lengthy sentences. Human beings tend to remember what they see compared to what they see (Singh,2020) . This statement proves to be true as research has shown that the human brain processes images and visuals 60,000 times faster than texts or words. Hence, using infographics can help one write better proposals as it would allow for the intended audience to retain information much easily and can easily impress the audience with the attractiveness of the proposal.

Persuasive appeals help one in writing good or better business proposals as it convinces an intended audience using their logic, ethics or even appealing to their emotions.  Logos appeals to logic and reasoning; Pathos appeals to emotions and imaginations whilst Ethos appeals to value and imagery. How do these 3 appeals help in better business writing? Let’s take for example the use of ethos. When one uses ethos or ethical appeal, they are attempting to tap into the values or ideologies that the audience holds (Long et al., 2020). This means that this is more on a social level rather these values are felt emotionally but more of on a social level rather than on a personal level. The usage of these persuasive appeals help one to connect better with the audience and the audience would feel that the one who is in charge if doing the business proposal is making a good point or a good argument ( if there is an argument)

Secondly, infographics help one to write better business proposals as they are shareable and make complicated content much easier to comprehend. Visual content is 40 times more likely to be shared in social media as compared to other types of content. Furthermore, infographics tend to be much easier to comprehend due to there being an equal number of words and imagery in the infographic. For instance, a simple google search of a good infographic would show that an infographic is mainly made up of pictures and a few words beside these pictures that would tell a story of what the infographic is meant to convey. This would be essential and critical in a business proposal as it is would be deemed professional for one to tell a story using pictures and with minimal words and can easily sway the audience with such amazing technical skills of using an infographic. Moreover, as mentioned above, the audience would most likely remember the imagery shown as it is proven to be more memorable compared to lengthy wordings.

Persuasive appeals can also help one in writing better business proposals due to the usage of Logos. When one relies on using logos for a business proposal, it means that they are using logic, careful structure of sentences and words as well as objective evidence to appeal to the audience. One can appeal to the audiences’ intellect by using information that can be fact checked or corroborated by reliable sources. This is an excellent example of how to make one’s business proposal better as according to research, logic appeals rest on rational modes of thinking such as cause and effect (Long et al., 2020). For example, when making a proposal about why product A is better compared to product B , the argument that A is better because it has produced better results in terms of customer satisfaction and B has produced less better results due to lesser customer satisfaction. These will rest on the readers rational mode od thinking that due to less customer satisfaction (cause), product B has produced much worser results (effect). Hence, the usage of persuasive appeals can also greatly benefit one’s business proposal

Thus, with the reasons I have discussed above, I believe that persuasive appeal and infographics can help one with creating better business proposals as they allow to captivate the audiences attention and sway them towards thinking that the proposal is of good quality from the usage of persuasive appeal.
