Do Energy drinks cause a boost in energy? 

Energy drinks do include lots of sugar. For reference, a Monster includes 55 grams of sugar, which if you didn’t know is not good for you. According to Brown Health Promotion, energy drinks can increase heart rate, cause someone to have higher blood pressure, and many more negatives. The 55 grams of sugar do give you short-term energy. However, it’s very unhealthy and has limited benefits. Also, other sources, such as Katherine Zeratsky, who is Mayo Clinic certified nutritionist, verify this and agree that there are tons of sugars and caffeine in an energy drink which causes a short-term energy boost.  

Do Energy drinks reduce fatigue?

Energy drinks are meant to wake you up and reduce fatigue, right? Studies have shown that this is true and energy drinks are meant to make you more concentrated by a large amount of caffeine in it. This is backed up by sources such as Keith Pearson, who is a certified Dietitian. He published his work on Healthline.com. In this article, Keith and other researchers have concluded that energy drinks improve someone's reaction time, memory, and concentration.

Are Energy drinks healthy to drink

Energy drinks do cause some health concerns, especially with the high amount of sugars and caffeine in them. The FDA recommends that the most caffeine you should consume a day is 400 milligrams, which is the equivalent of 2 and a half monsters. According to the National Institute of Health, high levels of caffeine are believed to cause sleep problems and anxiety. The high amount of sugar also causes heart problems and high blood pressure. It’s recommended that you shouldn’t drink an energy drink a day, but it is okay to have an energy drink occasionally. 

Do energy drinks boost performance?

Most athletes drink energy drinks before a workout or game. Why? As I stated earlier, energy drinks improve alertness and concentration but studies have shown that energy drinks help a person's endurance and delay a person's fatigue, according to the Strength and Conditioning Journal.

Do energy drinks stunt your growth?

As we know, energy drinks contain lots of caffeine in them. It’s rumored that caffeine can stunt your growth. However, that is false. The only reason that rumor came around is that companies that sold caffeine alternatives wanted to steer us away from stuff like coffee which contains lots of caffeine, according to The Roasterie.

Conclusion

Throughout my research, I learned that energy drinks are safe to drink, but you shouldn’t drink one every day but occasionally. Energy drinks do work, but you should be careful with how many you drink. This will help me know what to expect during my experiment.
