“Life is nothing without friendship” as Cicero once said. Even the greatest of all memorial philosophers, writers and rhetoricians have dealt with the question of how important it is to have friends. Unsurprisingly it is said that maintaining friendships has an extremely high impact on one’s mental health and helps to develop social skills, for instance the habit of caring and sharing which normally initiates during childhoods. 

Description of teenagers social life

In this generation teenagers social life is a serious problem owing to a huge amount of issues teenagers have to deal with. What is more, the modern century with its advantages and disadvantages easily has a whether good or bad influence on teenagers. Despite the life of party - which is of course not for everyone -, hobbies and daily gossip teenagers consecutively are confronted with typical problems as with family or friends. Furthermore, it is said that the impact social media has on young adolescents makes it difficult and almost impossible to be successful in the path of finding one’s own personality which engages a huge part in the life of a teenager. 

Analysis of the importance of a peer group

Generally said a peer group is a group of people who usually share equal characteristics or interests, for example a soccer team or a school class. Different to friendships peer groups are not build up on friendly trust. They serve to help to develop self-esteem and confidence and gaining social skills as like teamwork. Nevertheless, the term of peer pressure often appears with regard to peer groups. Teenagers can be forced into activities just to feel valued and accepted. To demonstrate a lot of teenagers feel the urge of belonging even if it is voluntary or not. Undoubtedly peer pressure also can have a positive influence. To give an illustration of the meaning, teenagers might be encouraged to become more assertive and get more involved in school through peer groups. 

Importance of mutual support and influence

Giving mutual support is essentially important for teenagers to be able to cope with stressors and is a very successful strategy to help during this vulnerable life stage. That is to say, it is proposed that mutual support is one of the protective factors to provide teenagers form stress. Moreover, having friends with the same problems is important and does not let you feel like an outsider. Furthermore, consecutive advice can be given.

All in all friendship is very important in our lives. Without it is hard to life because the emotional and mutual understanding is missing. It is rightly said that, “True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils. Strive to have friends, for life without friends is like life on a desert island."
