The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn”- Maria Montessori. I completely agree with the quote mentioned above, for children, early childhood education is critical. It is here, that kids will build confidence and become open to learning, and it is our responsibility as early childhood educators to help them along the route to becoming adults who believe in themselves and strive for excellence.

I believe that each child is unique in their own way, and as an educator, I will recognize and nurture each child's individual strengths, passions, talents, capabilities, and skills in order to help them excel academically. I am a firm believer in the iTeach principle of "teachers as facilitators of learning" as it also supports my believe. It is essential to understand a child's learning style in order to make learning enjoyable and simple for them. Hence, I would observe and monitor the children and then I would plan for their learning based on my knowledge of how they learn, their interests, needs, and talents. I'll also create a space of their own in the classroom itself for them to elicit creativity and a desire to learn. As an early childhood educator, it is my obligation to recognize the needs of the children and to plan accordingly. Each child learns differently, therefore I would personally use the Reggio Emilia approach. The Reggio Emilia approach believes that a child is able to think in various ways and this approach accepts and encourage them to do so. This can be seen from when Loris Malaguzzi spoke about "the hundred languages of children". Children will be provided with various materials and resources to further grow their creativity. This way it will allow them to show their way of thinking about their world using these materials. Reggio Emilia approach also allows children to use real-life concepts that will build their life skills. This approach to learning will allow children to be in charge of their own learning and therefore allowing them to be unique in their own way.

As early childhood educators we have a set of responsibilities towards the children, their families, the community, the profession and the employer that we must adhere to. As educators we must ensure each child's psychological, intellectual, physical, and emotional well-being and safety while they are in our care. We are required to notify the appropriate authorities if there is probable cause to believe neglect or child abuse. The responsibility towards their family, we work together with families as partners to ensure the children's well-being and comprehensive development. To the community, in the best interests of the child, we engage with agencies and other experts. To the profession, in the best interests of the child, we engage with agencies and other experts. To the employer, we support the profession by providing the best service possible. As educators, it is vital that we uphold our responsibilities in order for the children to have a positive learning experience.

For most children, preschool will serve as the cornerstone of their education, and we may be their first teachers, so it is vital for us early childhood educators to make it enjoyable for them as this is their first step in their educational path. Even tiny words of encouragement can make a difference in their lifelong learning.
