Should all U.S students be required to learn a different language besides English? Yes, all students should be required to learn a different language besides English. students should be required to learn another language because it will be easier to talk and communicate with people that are not bilingual and do not speak English, and it also helps students explore diverse cultures and religions.   

To begin, students should be required to learn another language besides English because, it will be easier to speak to people who are not bilingual and do not speak English. According to the text, “speaking another language makes it easier to talk to people who do not speak English therefor there will always be a demand for American's who speak foreign language,” I feel as Tho students that come from various places and background should be able to have an education as well so therefor if there were more translators around it would be easier. “If the United States want to hold up its end of the cross-cultural conversation, having student learn a second language must become priority.” based on this evidence this proves that people who speak different languages have an advantage because they can speak to people who do not speak English. Learning a different language is good because it will help you and your community. 

Secondly, students should be required to speak more than one language because it helps students explore unfamiliar cultures, it will help students explore diverse cultures and religions. According to the text, “in process of learning Foren language students are exposed to other cultures ", it is good to open to new cultures because if there were more open cultures there would be more successful people if there were people who understood their language and could translate. “This exposure can result in sensitivity to people different from oneself, another important quality that we want to cultivate in our youth.” To sum it up, learning a different language exposes students to diverse cultures and religions. 

Conversely, some believe that students should be required to learn more than one language because they say it is a waste of time and you should spend your time learning an extracurricular activities like art, music, song, planting but I feel as Tho students should be required to learn a different language because, there will always be a popular demand for Americans who speak foreign languages. 

Finally, students should be required to learn a different language because it will be easier to talk to people who are not bilingual and do not speak English, and it helps students explore diverse cultures and religions. To wrap it up, learning a different language helps with school and benefits overall, it also helps get better jobs and get in better schools.
