Students Need Their Phones During the School Day (Essay Example)

Many teachers think cell phones in school are a problem. Teachers believe if they let students be on their phones, they would be a distraction to themselves or other students. To fix this problem teachers need to see the cell phone as a motivation to finish their work, educational tools, and a stress reliever.  

Firstly, principals should see phones in school to be used as a motivation to finish their work efficiently and effectively. With the no cell phone rule students would do their work and then are bored for the rest of class. If students have their phones during school they would be motivated to do their work. When they finish they can play on their phones as a reward for doing their work effectively and efficiently.

Secondly, principals need to see cell phones as a helpful learning tool in some classes. For example in math having a calculator with the most modern day formulas in students pockets would be super helpful for students and their school. They also would help in English because they have the most updated dictionary if students don't know how to spell a word. This would also help the school because they would not have to buy new calculators and dictionaries students would just use their phones.

Lastly, many teachers feel cell phones are only a distraction. If principals supported the appropriate use of cell phones during the school day, teachers would follow and allow cell phones. Teachers could also allow cell phone breaks for stress relief. Cell Phone breaks can help take students' minds off the stresses of school.

In conclusion, teachers need to stop thinking cell phones in school are a distraction. Instead, teachers need to understand cell phones can be used as learning tools, stress relievers, and a motivation to finish their work. Having cellphones in school would be a success for all students and teachers.
