To be Real is to be genuine, yet also to be up to the subjective definition of realistic existence. How can we as an individual comprehend this malleable concept? Due to this, we know frighteningly little about reality with its impressionist nature and everchanging definition.

Existing and having physical existence was one of the first-ever definitions of the word "real," but this term of existence is heavily subjective, as such, the definition is unique to everyone. During the Cubism movement, Cubism shows no explicit meaning. Yet when looked at closely from a different perspective, its projected meaning surfaces. Realists try to be crystal clear and conform to the standard, contrary to Cubists. In the differing ideas of pragmatism and positivism, this difference in perception represents itself. Pragmatism is the thought that all items or policies are not true until proven otherwise, whereas positivism is vice versa where every policy or item is a Fact. Said difference appears to be a minute difference, but don't be fooled, small differences such as this can influence decisions massively, politically active individuals use a type of positivism known as Comtean positivism. Comtean positivism believes that science creates a positive truth that is unquestionable. On the other hand, pragmatist mindsets question every action until you can ascertain whether said action is viable. Due to these differences in their mindsets, their perceptions of reality can be vastly different, for example, a pragmatist would see a half-filled glass of water as half empty, whereas a positivist would see it as a glass half full truly conveying the difference.

Every person has their notion of reality that guides actions, and out of many influences, being extant is a universal concept for our definitions of reality. Take religion, the commands of religions may vary, but they only have control if deemed genuine and believable, likewise with science. During Scientific experiments utilizing data and evidence to prove our statements is pivotal to representing that your research is factual. If your research is deemed genuine, then it has more importance. With this weight, it can then influence the workings of society and perhaps become renowned. As such, the universal significance of existence is portrayed immensely by the links it has, the power it holds, and how we rely upon it all represent this portrayal.

We use the word "real" commonly throughout our lives, in many forms of context: to describe a trait, to quantify reality, to exist, to be genuine, and to be complete. Our existence is often disappointing, with its highs followed by extreme lows, but regardless it is a concept that we must live and die with, and there is no room for debate upon that.
