Muhammid Ali's dream was to be the best.  He achieved this dream through hard work and perseverance. If Muhammid Ali didn't believe in dreams he would have never become the best boxer on earth. This is the same case for the Youngers dreams in Lorraine Hansberry's A raisin in the sun. The Youngers have been living in a run down apartment for years. They didn't have enough money to make a living until Mama's husband Big Walter died and she got the inheritance. Now she has to make a big decision: Who to give the money to. The choice comes down to whose dream is the most worthy. I think Mama's dream of owning a house is the most worthy dream because she has been waiting so long for her dream to come true , her dream will help out the whole family, and her dream can be accomplished.

Mama moved into a run down apartment expecting to be there only for a few weeks. When she found out that her and Big Walter wouldn't be able to move out as soon as they expected she was devastated but she kept being hopeful. Years went by and eventually Mama had a child. That child was lost to poverty and because of that Big Walter worked

himself to death so the next children he had would live a better life in a better home. Mama also was working as hard as she could in kitchens just to get enough money to move out of the depressing apartment she and her family were living in. Even after all these long years and Big Walters death Mama still doesn't have the house she dreamed of having for herself and her family. Since she has been waiting patiently for so long I think it's only right for her to keep the money and invest it into the house she has always wanted. It's what Big Walter would have wanted and it's what Mama wants to do.

Another reason why Mama's dream is most worthy is because it will benefit the whole family. If she decides to keep the money and buy a house, not only will she be moving into that house but her family will be moving into it as well. Travis will have a backyard to play in and his very own room. There is a nice big kitchen for everyone to prepare food in. It's also much more spacious than the tiny apartment they were living in before. It will really help out the whole family unlike Walters and Beneatha's dreams. Walter does want to do better for his family but his dream of investing in a liquor store is very risky and has a better chance of hurting the family rather than helping it. Beneatha's dream of becoming a doctor is a good dream to have but it will end up only helping herself out. Mama's dream is the dream that will help out the whole family that's why hers is the most worthy.

The final reason her dream is most important is because her dream can be accomplished. Mama has the money to put a down payment on a house right now. She is ready and prepared to fulfill this dream. Walter and Beneathas dreams are going to take a lot more money and a lot more time than Mamas. Walter wants to invest into his own liquor store which is going to cost a lot and even when he does invest in it he isn't going to start gaining income for a while. Beneatha needs schooling to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor and schooling is very expensive. She would also need to go through years of that said schooling. Since their dreams are hard to complete and Mama's dream isn't, hers is the most worthy. Meaning she should keep the money and invest into a house for her family.

I think Mama's dream of buying a house for herself and her family is the most worthy dream. The reason it is the most worthy is because she has been waiting so long for her dream to come true , her dream will help out the whole family, and her dream can be accomplished. In the end none of the Younger's dreams will come true without hard work and dedication. Whether Mama gets to keep the money or not, she and the rest of the family will have to keep working hard to get what they want. Nothing worth having comes easy.
