Essay Sample about Math In My Life

According to google “mathematics includes the study of such topics as quantity, structure, space, and change. It has no generally accepted definition. Mathematicians seek and use patterns to formulate new conjectures; they resolve the truth or falsity of such by mathematical proof”. But for me math is just not a subject or some studies of quantity, structure, etc. Because math made a big impact in my elementary days, I was taught how to count numbers at the age of three, at the age of six I was chosen to participate in a quiz bee. Being a participant of a quiz bee, especially a math quiz bee is really fun for me. I met some friends from different schools and got awards from the school. I also think that participating in math quiz bees made my elementary days more interesting and exciting.

I’ve always liked mathematics, even though it’s a bit hard and stressful sometimes it is fine because I like the challenge. I’m not scared to face the challenges that this subject will give me,  because for me math is like a person’s life. It's very challenging and confusing but it is also fun. I don’t remember when I started to like math, but it most likely began because I find it easy to understand. Every time I have a hard time solving a problem, what I do is just read it and read it until I finally understand the problem.

Math is very important in our daily life. It’s a fact that you can never deny, living your life without knowing the basic math is hard. Because someone might take advantage of your weakness and you will find it difficult to understand the world around you. It is also very helpful for improving our problem-solving skills.

I am very excited for this school year. I am hoping to learn new stuff about math in this school year. This is my first year in high school which makes it even more exciting. My expectations for this school year isn’t that high since everything is still new for me. Still that is not a hindrance for me to do a good job.
