I started my working out journey in 8th grade. It was hard to keep working out because I didn’t feel motivated to constantly go to the gym. Recently, I joined Gold’s Gym to continue my workout journey. I realized that if I wanted my dream body then I would need to be devoted to the gym. My commitment to working out made me achieve my goal.

Ever since I was a child, I looked up to my father. I would look at his high school pictures and be amazed at how healthy and fit he looked, so I wanted to look like that. I made it a goal to look fit, but to also be healthy. One day in eighth grade my father took me to the gym, and I remember feeling exhausted. I only went to the gym for a couple of weeks before I gave up, but recently I was motivated to go again. I wanted to accomplish my goal of being healthy and fit.

When I first stepped into the gym it didn’t feel right. I was insecure, some may even say that I was terrified. As I slumped my way deeper into the gym, I looked around and saw muscular people lifting heavy weights. I felt out of place because I was just a puny kid. It felt like the tension was building in me because I thought that the other people were judging me. I was so insecure because I did not have a clue about what I was doing, so I left the gym unsatisfied.

Surprisingly, my friend asked if I wanted to go to the gym with him a couple of hours later. During the past few hours, I spent time researching and watching working out techniques so that I can prepare myself for my next workout. When we walked into the gym, I suddenly felt a bit empowered. Maybe it was because I had done the research, but my insecurities started to dwindle. During our workout, I did not feel like the others were judging me, so I continued to focus on my workout. After we ended our session with a twenty-minute jog, I left the gym feeling more comfortable than ever before. Then, I realized that working out is not as hard as it seems.

Within the next few days, I continued to go to the gym and build my commitment. On the third day of working out, I went to the gym by myself. I did not feel scared or insecure, but I felt comfortable and calm. After going home and showering, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw results. I was in awe because I did not think that I would be seeing the results so soon. It then occurred to me that my commitment to the gym was the reason why I was seeing results this early in my journey.

To achieve my goal, I had to commit to working out. I started my journey as a puny kid and did not know the techniques and exercises. After many months, I am pleased with the progress and results that I have made. Now, I am more muscular, fit, and healthier than when I first started. I continue to go to the gym quite frequently to keep my progress. If I had not committed to the gym, then I would not have reached my goal of being fit and healthy.
