Life is Precious Essay Sample

Sometimes when we flip open a newspaper or switch on the television, we can often read news about suicided cases or attempted suicide. I remember the first time I saw a news article on a suicide case. It was about a 25-year-old youth. He was still young and probably had a good and prosperous life ahead of him, but he chose to end it. The article shocked me  to my very core and I wondered why someone would do such a thing.

Life is precious, don’t waste it. Many people have killed themselves just because their college grades weren’t good enough, or perhaps because they were rejected by someone they liked and had feelings for. Other people have also committed suicide due to a lack of money. The thing is, troubles like heartbreak or bankruptcy can be fixed, or mended. Throwing yourself off a building won’t help. In the long run, it might even make things worse.

If you ever find yourself standing on top of a high building or on a bridge, looking down as you prepare to take your last leap, think about your family. Think about your friends. Think about everyone who meant something to you. Would they want to see you lifeless on   the hard pavement below? Or, would they prefer to see you at home, safe and happy? I am   sure they would prefer the second option.

Life may seem fleeting, but in fact you can do a whole lot of good in a lifetime. Everyone has a part to play in our world. A lot of famous people started from humble beginnings, driven by a certain passion or idea. Others are even blind, deaf, or mute, but they can achieve wonders like writing books or inventing new technology! The world we live in really is a place with millions of opportunities, all for the taking.

Life is precious, so we absolutely cannot waste it. Each of us only has one life to live, and you cannot purchase another, no matter how much money you have. So, make sure you live it to the fullest, and treasure every single moment of your precious, valuable, life.
