Every day I ask myself the question of “What will life be like tomorrow?”. We ask ourselves questions like; how will the weather be? How will that one class go? What am I going to wear? What will life be like ten years from now? Every single one of us has plans for our future and an image in our heads of what life will turn out to be. My short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals are dreams I hope to achieve. They are goals I have thought deeply about and changed multiple times so far. To a point, I believe my goals are exactly set to where I plan to be.

Throughout my years in high school, I stumbled with the question of what do you want to go to college for? My answer was always a shoulder shrug or the line “I am not going to college". It was not until my Sophomore year that I signed up to take the Psychology class they offered as an elective, little did I know I was going to fall completely head over heels for the subject. My teacher at the time, Mr. Warlow, made the class very enjoyable. He taught Psychology with passion and excitement, making it my favorite class to attend. In the class, we would quiz one another on our knowledge by using each other as test subjects. We pointed out the (externally) parts of the brain by placing sticky notes on each other heads to help us study. Psychology increasingly got more interesting as the units went on, and I fell in love with the whole idea of how people's minds worked. Once we hit the criminal part of psychology, I was instantly intrigued, it opened a new realm of Psychology. Since then, I have wanted to know why criminals do what they do. I quickly got into crime investigating and criminal psychology, I knew this was what I wanted to study.

The goal that is most important to me is to graduate from IUP with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Criminology. Without doing so, I would not be able to achieve any more academic goals and might as well stop the paper right here. Before graduation, by my junior or senior year, I hope to land an internship with behavior analysis in a psychology department. Soon after, just around graduation, I hope to branch from my internship and work closer into the crime field with behavior analysis. Sit down and start to talk to some actual criminals. Outside my academic career, I plan to make friends that will last a lifetime through my years here at IUP. I hope to continue helping my mom with our tiny farm and saving wildlife in my off time.

When it comes to mid-term goals, I tend to think that these are the ones that I give the least attention to, Since I want to focus more on the now and the far future instead. Once I have completed my four years at IUP, after a year off, I plan to revisit my college career and attend another four-year psychology program. I most likely will attend a fully online college and not continue back at IUP. My fingers are crossed that I continue to have a decent, steady job out in Georgia, where I plan to live. I would adore having a volunteer job at a rehab clinic for wildlife for something to do on the side. Of course, this one is cliché and a dream for any girl to have, but I hope to find my prince charming, get married, and start building my own little family out in my forever home.

In 10 years from now, I will be twenty-nine years old, kind of crazy to even think about. At this point in my life, I hope to have my Ph.D. in psychology framed in my office with a name tag that says, “Dr. Miller”. Yes, I will finally be done with all the long years of schooling, promise I am done after eight years! I plan to have everything built from the ground up, have my forever house build from scratch with my design. Finally, I hope to have all the animals I could wish for and of course help as many as possible too. My goal at the end of this is to be in a behavioral analysis unit for the FBI or CIA and Branch away from the small police department or psychology department. Now that my life has hopefully calmed down and everything has fallen in place, my last dream is to travel and see places I have never been before. I would love to see the sights that you only see in the picture on Google or Instagram. I would love to make it to Ireland one day.

Of course, these are all hopes and dreams that I have planned out for myself. Every single one took long thought and consideration on how to achieve them. With my head on my shoulders, I can accomplish all of these. From now on, I can only keep my fingers crossed and my dreams in the back of my mind. But life is wild, and we can never expect what tomorrow can be like. None of us can see into the future so, we can only ask ourselves “What will tomorrow be like?”.
