Admission Essay Sample: Notre Dame High School

I would like to attend Notre Dame high school because not only is it my top pick high school but I believe that this is a good opportunity to study virtual and performing arts, religious studies, and modern language that will expand my knowledge beyond my middle and elementary school years while also providing me with a unique education. Being in the environment of a catholic private school has been the best academic learning experience I have had in my current path of education. I joined St. Leo the Great School in my last year of middle school, 8th grade. Somehow this school changed my whole perspective on my education and how essential it will be in my life. When I first joined St. Leo everyone was discussing their plans for high school and where they were applying to. I felt lost in 7th grade. I struggled a lot by not having the proper support of my teachers, struggling with having to do things on my own without the support of my parent, and soon just letting go of classwork. I fell behind academically and soon gave up. Entering this new year of 8th grade I was behind the rest of my classmates but with the help of teachers, tutor, and dad I have caught up to my classmates with the push of wanting to get into a good high school. 

I want to do the best that I can in order to have a positive future. Pushing myself to help regulate my current life I have realized my independence as I grow up and have to start accomplishing things on my own. I feel more than ready for the experience of high school. I have learned to speak up, ask any questions that I have, be more independent in ways that can benefit me, and I have worked on improving in as many ways as possible. I believe that growing in as many ways as possible, whether it's from a bad situation or a good one, is crucial in life. Having those abilities have always helped me accomplish goals that have impacted my life and even though as I am writing this early on in the year my grades have shown growth from my previous year of school because of the new environment being able to fulfill my school life in such a positive way is truly a blessing and I couldn't be happier. As well as the religious education that I am getting at st. Leo I never used to value my religion and didn’t pay attention to it but going to the school masses and religion classes have been an eye-opener that I would love to carry on through my high school years. 

I believe that I will properly be able to spend more time learning about my religion by being able to attend Notre Dame. The opportunity of going would mean that I would be able to pursue more religious practices. Old me glimpsing into the future never really knew what she wanted or if college was even something I would want to do, but not that has changed I have already been thinking of my plans for college and where I want to go through it may seem too soon but times flies and 4 years is nothing just time full of great opportunities that you have to reach for and accomplish.
