Automation is being brought into many jobs, cars, and houses these days. Even on a local farm. Most people are worried that automation will lead to massive job loss “the supermarket chain A&P used Mr. Bessen’s software to publish 30 or 40 versions of its weekly circular for Atlanta, with different promotions aimed at different neighborhoods. Mr. Bessen found that typesetting and compositor jobs fell about 100,000 over the 1980s” like having a particular bit of software taking over jobs for thousands of people who need to feed their families. Furthermore, people are scared of the morality issues of having more autonomous stuff in our lives. Moreover, people are becoming increasingly scared of AI taking over human lives. Automation is an ultimately good thing that will help bring more jobs than the lost jobs from automation.

Drones and natural disasters

Most of the time, when automation is implemented, it helps create more jobs. While it has been proven that automating stuff has lead to job loss, it has also been proven many more times that automation has lead to more jobs being gained than jobs being lost. Currently, some drones are being developed to help maintain and inspect crops. “Already, drones inspected a big share of Maine’s potato crop this year, looking for signs of drought or pest damage. The next step, already in the experimental stage, would be for drones to do the spraying as well”.Drones are currently being used in a few states like Maine to help inspect crops more closely. Even now, drones are helping to create more jobs through stuff like possibly controlling drones and hiring people to help maintain the drones by making repairs to them.

While being used to help with crops, They can be used to help fight all kinds of fires safer along with taking over many more natural disasters to help save lives. Especially since most drones are Remote controlled, they could help pilots risk their lives less and less. “Fighting forest fires could be made less dangerous. Last month, Lockheed and its recent acquisition, Sikorsky, used four drones and autonomous helicopters to locate and douse a controlled fire in Rome, NY, and then conduct a mock search and rescue.” There have already been drones used by Lockheed that have already been used to help fight a fire and, therefore, could be used to help in many more disasters. Even now, drones are proving helpful as they can also help deliver more supplies like first aid, food, and water to people stranded in natural disasters to people in need.

Automation is being used much more while also being cost-efficient; it also helps save many people’s lives through natural and workplace disasters and will also be able to deliver aid to people in natural disasters and humanitarian aid because firefighters will no longer have to risk their lives. Furthermore, they will be able to handle farmers’ crops much more efficiently now, which will help lead to decreases in food shortages.

New AI robots

During this time of covid-19, people may now be able to social distance safely. People are now able to attend family events that they might not otherwise be able to. “Already available commercially, Avatarin’s robots have been used by doctors to interact with patients in a Japanese coronavirus ward, by university students in Tokyo to “attend” a graduation ceremony.”Using a tablet or a computer, people who are now sick can visit their families physically in a sense without worrying about getting them sick or injuring themselves. This type of tech could be used to develop advanced technology that could help people see, feel and touch with this technology, which means bedridden people will be able to touch their family’s faces and finally be able to smell things that they have not smelled in years.

.And this could also help people who need to attend work but are way too sick to attend or who might have some other business. “. Since the virus arrived, robots have offered their services as bartenders, security guards, and deliverymen.”.With this kind of technology, jobs would be much safer to do. Security could go to work without fear of getting hurt, and they can also provide lots of entertainment for people at bars. Furthermore, these robots would allow engineers and other mechanical repairers to conduct their jobs much more safely and efficiently.

People Especially now need ways to see their families, And with these robots VR systems, people are now beginning to see their families again. Furthermore, they can also take some of the more dangerous jobs in our society, as security guards or astronauts. Furthermore, while true this may decrease the need for actual security guards or astronauts, there will be new jobs in helping maintain this new robot.

Ecommerce

Despite what many people think, automation creates more jobs than it destroys. Ecommerce has started to employ more people than traditional brick-and-mortar factories. Especially since the covid-19 pandemic had started, people have to fly towards more eCommerce jobs like at amazon fulfillment centers. “.  Kentucky had just 3,213 e-commerce workers in 2016, according to the BLS, yet Amazon employs more than 12,000 there. Warehousing has added 274,000 jobs nationwide since 2007. Mr. Mandel argues all of those are attributable to fulfillment centers and that thus total e-commerce employment has grown 401,000,”.Thanks to the ease of automation through amazon’s fulfillment centers and the ease of the web, people have started to get more eCommerce jobs online, and they are increasing way more than the jobs lost as a result.

“The company is exploring using drones, rather than people, to deliver packages, and is studying driverless vehicle technology. In 2012, Amazon bought robot manufacturer Kiva Systems”.Amazon has started to make many drones and currently testing driverless cars, which all need jobs to help control and maintain the drones and such. Even though at first people may see that automation does decrease job, it ultimately helps create more jobs for people than the jobs they lose and continue to help deliver and make stuff more efficient. Because Amazon will need more people to create, fly, and maintain all they are drones actually to deliver all the packages they receive.

While they are cutting down on some jobs like physically delivering packages, they are doing that very slowly. At the same time, they continue to put more automation into amazon fulfillment centers, and they are going to need more jobs to help maintain the drones that are being increasingly needed. Ever since amazon fulfillment centers had started to open, more and more people have started to flock towards them because of the pay that they all receive and because of all the benefits that come with becoming an employee at an Amazon fulfillment center,

Conclusion

Some of the fear that people have with automation is perfectly reasonable; there have been many job losses from automation that have been proven. However, people do not need to be scared of automation because they create more jobs than destroy. Moreover, people fear that AI is reasonable, but it will not end up like Skynet in terminator; it will be more like a robot that we interact with through VR. Furthermore, I think people will start to change about automation when they see all the jobs it will create and seeing how much it improves farming and help fighting natural disasters. Automation will help humanity with our safety, health, and education. It will ultimately help create new jobs and new positions, and humanity will ultimately benefit from having many more automated devices in our lives. Furthermore, it will help save many, many lives for many first responders. Furthermore, drones analyzing more thoroughly will ultimately help people have much cleaner and healthier food.
