Did you know that astronomy is a scientific term of space?Well now you do!Space is really cool isn’t it?That’s why i decided to become a Theoretical Astronomer when i grow up.A theoretical astronomer is a scientist who study space but instead of using pictures they use models and simulations to study instead. You might be wondering , what made me choose this career. The answer is , i choose to be a theoretical astronomer because i love space and i also love models and simulations. If  i can combine what i love i got the perfect job!A theoretical astronomer. To add on , I think  I'll like this job since I like physics, math, science, and computers.

To begin with , School and College. In college you need a certain degree to get a certain job.Well to become  a theoretical astronomer you need  a bachelor degree or master degree to become  a theoretical astronomer.Next, college majors. The college majors i’m planning to choose are  science, math, physics, computers. The reason i choose these four is since to become any type of astronomer you need to know  science, math, physics, computers. The reason you need science is because space falls under the science category. The reason you need computers is because you need to store your data their. Then, the types of colleges i would attend would be harvard or princeton university. The reason i would choose they colleges is because they are both very excellent for space and astronomy. However the tuition is expensive. When i mean expensive  i mean it.The tuition per year for astronomy is $40,000-$43,800.That’s a lot of money.Imagine paying that for 10 years. To become a astronomer you need to be in college for  a decade. So when i’m done with college i had paid $438,000.Hopefully i get a scholarship.

Secondly, how does my personality fit in to my career.Well personality fits in since my creative strengths are creative risks

,finding joy ,play in the process. How will those strengths help me?Well First of creative risks can help me become a theoretical  astronomer since theoretical  astronomers make models of space.I will have a lot of responsibilities for this certain job. Here are my top 3 responsibilities.Making sure to collect the data or it will cost one year of research or possibly even more.My next responsibility is  Doing models carefully to not mess up since if i do the information can be invalid.I would hate for models or simulations to be incorrect or invalid. It’s the same thing as getting your test taken away.It gets marked wrong. Finally,Not combining one subject with the other. For example,i’m on the computer organizing the piles into planets and stars. If i put earth in the star file it might lead to the world having a argument saying earth is a planet or earth is a star.

Thirdly,Career Logistics. You might be thinking, scientists will wear white coats and a pair of safety glasses.Well i would wear a brown fuzzy sweater with some dark blue jeans, with some black boots.Another misunderstanding is, do astronomers work inside or outside?Well I would work inside since I'm not an observational astronomer.Yes,I would have my own office. Most astronomers have their own computers so it’s most likely that we would have our own  office or desk. The burning question I bet you're wondering is do I travel. The answer is no.Astronauts are the ones who travel.Their the ones who take pictures and collect data.My job is to make simulations and models with those data and pictures.I would have to work with other astronomers to create simulations and models.Apparently it’s rare for one astronomer to work on a model by them self. The starting salary for a astronomer is a whopping $110,000- $150,000 every year. However every month is $2,000-$8,000.I don’t know about you but that’s a lot of money.

In conclusion, my dream job is to be an astronomer. What do I need to do today to prepare for the career?I need to start studying so I can become successful with the job.I’ve learned about the big dipper  constellation. This job is a perfect match since i love space and i also love models and simulations. If  i can combine what i love i got the perfect job!A theoretical astronomer.
