Event that sparked Personal Growth Free Essay Example

An event or accomplishment that sparked a period of growth in my life is when I discovered basketball. When I discovered basketball it sparked my interest as I saw older kids and men playing basketball saw how good they were and wanted to try my hardest to try and be the same way. The skill i wanted i trained for through blood, sweat, and tears this was the price you had to pay if you wanted to travel and get noticed by better teams and try to climb your way to the top with you team in a joint effort.I had travel to different states and places to play in tournaments and camps so that I could be better at what I wanted to do which was be good enough to be a kid and play with adults because I am at the skill level where i am not of age but I can play with adults because they have skill sets much like mine. And this peaked my interest to train more and more and pay attention to what was being taught on the court so that way the team would prosper and get noticed and invited to bigger tournaments where we could have fun and train harder against harder teams that wanted to win much like us but we had the effort to overcome and to sometimes learn how lose as a team and go home and train harder for when we see that team again and try for the opposite outcome where we are the champions this time and we can prosper in the tournament and have more team effort as the more we play together the more we learn how others play and how we can use our advantages and our disadvantages to make sure we pick up others slack and win. I think that winning is what had originally sparked my interest in basketball but when I got to know the players and community I learned that winning isn't everything when you have a team that can play well together and make sure that you give everyone a chance because there is no I in team but in team there are champions. So i think that the best team to be on is one where everybody knows how to give others a chance and make sure that they are feeling like they belong on that team which will help with confidence and this will lead to effort and more games won. Which if you are trying to get noticed would help because people look at teams with winning records rather than losing records and more players are picked up from winning teams rather than teams that don't ever win because that shows a little bit of not having effort because with effort you can win.
